16th Coalition Theory Network Workshop
Barcelona, February 4-5, 2011
The workshop will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business
Administration at the Bellaterra campus of the Universitat
Barcelona, about 30 km west of Barcelona. The Bellaterra campus is
accessible by road (highways AP-7, C-16 and C-58) and train (FGC and
Situation on the campus
The building of the Faculty of Economics and Business is one of the
most central building of the campus, close to the FGC train station.
The building is indicated on the following
When arriving on the campus, just follow the crowd and exit through
the main gate (located in the middle of the platform).
- You will then
arrive (on your left after wallking about 50m) to a square. Cross the square
and take the wooden ramp.
(Don't take the wooden bridge, which is shorter and brings you to an
area with trees!)
- continue until the big building that is
in front of you. You should see some ugly red sculpture in a patio in
this building. Get there, it is in front of the entrance of the
Faculty of Economics building.
The workshop venue is on the ground floor.
How to arrive from downtown by train
From Hotel Turin, it takes a bit more than 1 hour door-to-door to get
to the workshop venue (time to get to the train station, buy the
ticket, catch a train, etc.). So we advice workshop participants to
leave the hotel at 8:15 at the latest on Friday, Feb. 4.
The journey takes approximately 30-35 minutes and a single ride (2
zones) costs 2.15 euros:
Keep the ticket, you need it to exit the station.
- Go to the nearest Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya
train station (Plaça Catalunya, Provença, Gràcia,...). The nearest
station to the hotel of the workshop is Catalunya: see
- Take the train signalled as "Sabadell" (S2) or "Universitat Autònoma" (S55).
- Get off the train at "Universitat Autònoma"
How to arrive from the airport
- Solution 1
Take the RENFE
train to "Barcelona-Sants". Then, take
a RENFE train to "Cerdanyola-Universitat" (just get off the train and
wait on the same platform). Take the "blue" bus (2nd stop,
"Econòmicas"). A single ride (3 zones) costs 2.5 euros.
- Solution 2
Go to (Plaça Catalunya (by bus, train or taxi), and then
take the FGC train (see above).
By taxi: Approximately 45 euros.
