Núria Rodríguez-Planas
is an Assistant Professor
at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. Prior to working
in the Academia, she worked as an
economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and as a economist at Mathematica Policy Research. Núria received her Ph.D. in Economics
in 1999 from Boston University
and was also a research fellow at Brookings Institution between 1997 and 1998.
Núria’s research
agenda can be classified within two broad but well connected topics: (1) Program
and Policy Evaluation in the Labor Market; and (2) Wages and Flexibility in the Labor
Market.
Núria has also had a long trajectory of working with policy makers, assisting
them with the design and evaluation of social policy. She has worked as an
expert for the U.S. Department of Labor, the World Bank, the
European Commission Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities DG, the Catalan Government, and the Statistics Institute of Andalucía, among others.
Some of Núria's findings have been
reported in the Spanish national press. Since 2010, she collaborates with La Vanguardia.
She is an IZA, MOVE and a Barcelona Graduate
School fellow.
