Welcome to my website. I am the Director of MOVE, Associate Professor of Economics (with tenure) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona GSE. I graduated from CEMFI in 2011.
I am an External Fellow at CReAM (UCL), Guest Editor for a Special Issue on "Economics of Migration: Labour Market Impacts and Migration Policies" of Labour Economics, the Journal of the European Association of Labour Economists, and Associate Editor of SERIEs --- The Journal of the Spanish Economic Association. I am listed I am listed by RePeC in the list of top 5% of authors worldwide with the largest number of journal pages weighted by number of authors and recursive impact factors (ranking).
I have recently been awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for my project "Dynamic Modeling of Labor Market Mobility and Human Capital Accumulation (DYMOLAMO)". In the last few years I have been organizing a conference on Structural Microeconometrics in the Barcelona GSE Summer Forum (more details here), and I have co-organized another one on Migration (details here). I also teach courses on Migration and Structural Microeconometrics at the Labor Economics and Microeconometrics Barcelona GSE Summer Schools (you can register here).
My research interests are in Labor Economics and Structural Microeconometrics. My current research focuses on immigration, internal migration, occupational mobility, inequality, human capital accumulation, technological progress, and frictions.
