Dear friends.

CODE (Center for the study of Organizations and Decisions in Economics) is a research center aiming at the promotion of high quality research in the theory of economic decisions and organizations.
This first issue of the newsletter intends to be the way to communicate our activities not only to the academic community but to society as well. We are witnessing a process of radical change of the role of the University driven by the Bologna movement and the Lisbon agenda. One of the means envisaged towards the accomplishment of the objectives proposed is the improvement of the dialogue between universities and society.
In this spirit, CODE as part of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, humbly aims to contribute to the improvement of this dialogue with this newsletter.
We start this newsletter with all excitement. Although we plan to produce two issues a year, we hope to be able to increase its periodicity in the future. We welcome your suggestions.

Xavier Martínez-Giralt
Director
